About our ServicesThe first time you go anywhere can be a daunting prospect, for some, entering a place of Worship can be even more so. You are sure of a friendly welcome at New Waters; we are a Fellowship which centres on relationships. Relationships with one another, with God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit. If you are unsure, why not bring a friend or contact us so someone can sit with you.
We are a very relaxed Fellowship with no set structure to the meetings; we will sing modern songs and hymns, which are displayed on a screen at the front of the hall. We do wave flags and raise our hands in worship as led by God. There is a prayer time and someone may speak or sing in ‘tongues’, this is their way of worshipping, as is standing or remaining seated as you feel comfortable.
There may be an ‘open-prayer’ time, which allows the Fellowship to pray out loud to the Lord. The Minister may be led by God to come along side a person and pray over them, but this will only happen after permission is given. If this does happen and you do not wish it no-one minds, it is your preference.
We are not a huge Fellowship, and there is usually spare seating, we do not reserve seats. Sit where you feel most comfortable.
Disabled accessThe Frank Townend Centre, where New Waters Christian Fellowship now meets, has full ramp access for wheelchairs.
There is no dress code here at New Waters, some wear ‘collar & tie’ others more casual attire. We are not interested in what you wear, neither is God, He simply wants you to be relaxed in His presence.
We take a collection during the Service. If you have not come prepared to give, and then just let the offering bag pass you by, no-one expects you to contribute unless you feel you would like.
We have a special Children’s Meeting. This takes place during the Service when the children go out. Just speak to the Children’s Meeting Leader who wears a badge of identification.
It is normal for us to take Communion at some time during the Service, the Minister usually leads this and ‘Servers’ distribute it. You do not have to be a member, just have the love of Christ in your heart and an understanding of the meaning as to why Jesus Christ died on the cross in our place.
As led by the Lord someone, usually the Minister, will bring a reading from the Bible which is followed by a message or teaching of its application to our daily living.
