Helping local organisations

NWCF were able to make a donation of £100.00 to the Cleveleys Chess Club on Thursday 8 July 2010
Cllr. Kay suggested that the club were in need of some new equipment and we readily responded.

Here at New Waters Christian Fellowship, Cleveleys we have always been keen to be part of the community in which we are based. Although not a large church, the fellowship has in it’s 5 years been able to support local charities and projects.

In July New Waters celebrated it’s 5th anniversary. The fellowship decided to give £100 for each of its five years to support needy organisations and people. It was agreed that the Grahams, missionaries in Tanzania, Chanti Raju’s Good News Ministries in India, and three local projects should be donated to. Working with the local Councillor, Alison Kaye the fellowship gave £100 to Cleveleys Junior Chess Club who were in need of new boards for their up and coming champions. The event was supported by local MP Paul Maynard.

On 18th July an anniversary celebration service and BBQ was held. The Mayor of Wyre Borough, Russell Forsyth, and his wife Christine attended, as did three of the local councillors.

Minister, Alan Drake, who has recently returned to New Waters, gave a message which included an item written for the children and included 37 different chocolate names as a quiz. One young member, Joshua Williams,  managed to get all 37. His prize? A large bag of mixed bars of chocolate!

Alan’s wife Beverly gave her testimony, having just undergone breast cancer surgery, it was moving and brought a great message of faith and God’s great blessings at all times.

The fellowship presented the Mayor with a £200 cheque to be split between his two charities NSPCC & Royal British Legion Women’s Section. The Mayor spoke on how the meeting had moved him and how his wife had had breast cancer 15 years previously and Beverly’s testimony had touched her deeply.

The BBQ was a great success, even though it rained constantly everyone went home full.
